Hanover Hawkeye Wrestling was established in 2009 by Chad Harris, Dave Epperly and Robert Buchanan.  The club was founded to be a feeder program for the Hanover County Schools.  In 3 years, the club has become one of the larger clubs in Virginia with close to 100 youth and middle school wrestlers.  The club operates year round with sessions, camps and clinics for all experience levels.

The mission of the club is to give local wrestlers of all experience levels, beginner to advanced, the best possible opportunity to grow as a wrestler.

In March 2011, Hanover Hawkeye opened their own 3,000 square foot facility in the Hanover County Air Park, which provides ample flexibility and opportunity for the room to be open for our wrestlers.  The facility is outfitted with wall-to-wall mats and fully padded walls.

Our staff consists of experienced fathers and coaches, who all have a passion and dedication for the sport of wrestling and are committed to the program.  We consistently have approximately 10 coaches in the room during our youth practices.

In 2012-13 the club plans to expand and will offer more opportunities to our youth wrestlers.  For example, our experienced youth wrestlers will have the opportunity to travel to various out of state national wrestling tournaments and the club has plans to increase the number of duals tournaments.  While the experienced wrestlers are advancing to new opportunities, the beginner and intermediate wrestlers can work on their skills at the local recreational level.

Chad Harris: Head Coach:  USA Wrestling Bronze Certified Coach.  Former West Virginia University Wrestler. 3 x time all state wrestler, 2x state runner up.

David Epperly: Head Coach:  USA Wrestling Bronze Certified Coach.

Robert C. Buchanan: Head Coach:  USA Wrestling Bronze Certified Coach

Gabe LaVey: Former Hanover High School wrestling and VA State Champ, and previously wrestled at NC State. Gabe spent last year coaching at Hanover High School and at Virginia Team Predator in the off season
